This data is collected on June 1996, by an inquiry done among the users of the CAT´s Clinic of Taipas and among the addicts at the needle change bus at the Casal Ventoso (the Casal Ventoso is a major place of illegal drug trafficking and is usually referred as the drugs supermarket for the Lisbon area).

The average age for the sample is 28.8 years old (DS=6 years); 83,7% (247) of the addicts are males, and 13.5% (40) females: only 23.3% (69) are married or alike; regarding the scholar education level, in the sample 10,1% (30) have the basic cycle (4 years), 58.8% (174) have the 3rd Cycle (9 years), 22% (65) have the complementary studies (12 years) and 5.1% (15) have done or are in the college.
